How to Relieve Allergic Symptoms Resulting From Eyelash Extensions
Though this is not a common occurrence, the use of eyelash extensions may result in allergic reactions. This reaction may lead to reddening of the skin, irritation or even swelling.  Below are ways you can deal with these reactions and get your skin back to normal:
  • Use antihistamine drugs: you can buy drugs such as Benadryl which can be sold without a prescription at local pharmacies. The leaflet inside the pack will give directions on how the drug should be used.
If the symptoms still persist after using the drug, seek medical help.
  • Get rid of the eyelash extension and the adhesive used in applying the lashes: Though this may be devastating after using a lot of money to have the lashes on, the best option is to remove them in the right way to avoid damaging the natural lashes.
  • Wash your face: After removing the eyelash extension, clean your eyes using warm water to help in getting rid of excess oil around your eyes. You will then rinse your face off with cool water to help in soothing the eyes.
  • Apply a cool compress: this could be ice bags or a gel mask that has been frozen which will help to reduce the swelling and also sooth the eyes. The gel mask could be allowed to mask the eyes throughout the night.
To avoid such incidences, always ensure that you apply a patch before working on all the eyebrows. This will help to detect any allergic reactions early enough instead of waiting until all the eyelash extensions are in place. If you suffered an allergic reaction in the past, you should be careful as this reaction may recur. You should avoid anything that will compromise your health as it is more important than the beauty of the extensions. If the lashes were made from animals, you can choose those that are made of synthetic materials and test if they will be good for you.
