Anti-Wrinkle, Skin Tightening, & Frown Lines Removal Treatment
Dysport is a safe injectable medication used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. It works by blocking nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. Dysport is similar to Botox, but it may spread to other muscles more easily.
At Ogden Lash and Wax, our team of expert estheticians are highly trained in Dysport injections and can help you achieve the look you desire. We use the latest technology and techniques to ensure that you get the best possible results.
Dysport is FDA-Approved
Dysport was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2009 to treat frown lines between the eyebrows. Just like Botox, it is injected into the muscles that cause frowning.
Dysport vs. Botox
Both Dysport and Botox are injectable medications that temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines. They both work by blocking nerve signals that cause muscles to contract.
Dysport May Work Faster Than Botox
One advantage of Dysport over Botox is that it may work faster. In one study, Dysport began to work in 2 to 3 days, while it took up 1 week for Botox to start working.
Preparing for Your First Dysport Injection
If you're considering Dysport for the first time, here's what you should know about preparing for your injection:
1. Choose an experienced Dysport injector
A qualified injector will have experience injecting Dysport and be able to answer all of your questions.
2. Discuss Your Health Condition and Medications
Be sure to tell your injector about any health conditions or medications you're taking. This will help them determine if Dysport is right for you.
3. Avoid Blood Thinners
If you're taking blood thinners, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, be sure to stop at least 2 weeks before your injection. These medications can increase your risk of bruising.
4. Arrive freshly bathed
Try to arrive for your appointment freshly bathed. This will help ensure that the injection site is clean.
During the Dysport Treatment
During the treatment, your injector will clean the injection site and then inject Dysport into the muscles that cause frowning. The whole process takes about 15 minutes.
After the Dysport Treatment
After the treatment, you may have some redness and swelling at the injection site. This is normal and should go away within a few days. You may also have some bruising. This is also normal and should go away within a week or two.
Dysport results are temporary, but they can last for up to 4 months. After that, you'll need another injection to maintain the results.
Is Dysport Injection Safe
Dysport is a safe and effective treatment for frown lines. However, as with any medical treatment, there are some minor side effects.
