How to Prepare For an Eyelash Extension Session

Picture
Before you get the eyelash extensions on, you should make the necessary preparations which include the following:
  • Do not apply makeup on your eyes when going for the session: though the natural eyelashes will be cleaned before the eyelash extensions are put, you should not make it more difficult by having too much makeup on your eye as it will be wastage of time and resources.
  • Do not wear contact lenses when going for an eyelash extension service; instead,  wear glasses on that day.
  • If you intend to dye your natural eyelashes, you should do this 24-48 hours before going for the eyelash extension service. The residues of the dye may interfere with glue bonding and this will make the eyelashes fall off soon after completing the process.
  • If you will require facial steaming or cleansing, do this before you go for the eyelash extension as you will not be able to do this immediately after this process. Steaming after a lash process will loosen the glue that puts the eyelashes together making them fall off.
  • Do not opt for an eyelash extension that will be too expensive to buy and maintain. Choose a lash that comfortably fits your budget. Eyelash extensions fall off just like natural lashes and will need a top-up every now and then. You should, therefore, consider this cost before going for the session.
  • Conduct a background check on the makeup artist that will be fixing the eyelash extensions to ensure that he has the required qualifications to carry out the process. You would not want to have your eyelashes messed up as this could lead to further damage.
You should also consider some long-term issues like addiction to the lashes. You may get so used to how you look in the eyelash extension that you will want to always remain in that look.
