Preparation for a Bikini Wax

A bikini waxing procedure touches a very intimate part of you and this makes some people quite anxious. Here is what you should do to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible:

• Ensure that your bikini area is clean before going to the appointment. If you have booked an appointment after work where it will be impossible to go home, freshen up and then come for the appointment, you will be provided with a wet wipe which you can use to tidy yourself up so that you can be as comfortable as possible.
• Though some estheticians will not have a problem with waxing you while on your menstrual periods, the best option will be to postpone the appointment until after the periods are over. During this time, your skin will be too sensitive and you will feel too much pain.
• Holding a conversation or keeping quiet during a bikini waxing procedure is your choice; the esthetician will respect your decision and will only talk to you when there is something you must know or when asking for directions.
• Do not take alcohol before going for a bikini wax as it will make you feel more pain. Alcohol consumption will make your pores tight and the hair will, therefore, be difficult to remove.
• You can take some pain-relieving tablets before the procedure begins as it will make the pain more bearable. This should be done at least thirty minutes before the procedure kicks off.
• Be free to speak up if anything makes you uncomfortable; if you feel too much pain, do not be afraid to speak up so that the esthetician can change the tactic and make you more comfortable.

Before going for a bikini waxing appointment, take plenty of water so that you will be well hydrated. This should begin at least three weeks before so that your skin will contain enough moisture to make the hair easier to remove.
